We usually open just before Easter till the end of September, dependent on the weather and ground conditions.
Yes we are a very family orientated site and children love it here. The campsite has a small children’s playground, a very popular stream and a woodland to play in. Plenty of washing for mum!
Yes, we have 12 electricity points on site. They are on a first come, first served basis at an extra charge of 3.50 per night.
Sorry, but as we do not take pitch bookings we never know how many pitches we will have available on a specific day. If you phone 01929 480570 the answer phone message will change when we are full.
We can however offer a rough guide as to whether we will have space or not based on previous experience:
Out of school holidays we are usually quiet in the weekdays and fill by 6/7pm on Friday evenings. School holidays we are very busy but there is a natural ebb and flow of people coming and going daily. The best time to come and wait for a pitch tends to be late morning. Tues and Weds are probably the easier days.
Signs are put up outside the site and throughout the site. Please respect these signs and do not pitch as you may be asked to leave. We are only licensed for a certain number of tents and cannot exceed that number so although sometimes you may see some spare grass when the full boards are up please do not pitch up.
Burnbake time is midday to midday. Please arrive before 9pm at the latest to minimise disturbance to your neighbours and check-in at either the Reception or at the Burnbake Shop.
We accept all types of tents along with smaller sized camper vans. Due to the single track access road and council regulations we CANNOT ACCEPT CARAVANS.
Yes dogs are allowed on site, but must be on a lead at all times. There is a large forest next to the campsite where you can exercise/walk dogs. We do not charge for dogs. Please make sure you clear up any mess left by your dogs.
NO GROUND FIRES AT ALL under any circumstances. We do allow wood fires but only in a container raised off the ground (This may be revoked in exceptional weather/grounds conditions ). Fire pits can be hired from Burnbake Shop.
Yes, including disposable ones, as long as they are in a metal container and raised above the ground as we are in a high fire risk area.
Yes, there is excellent cycling all around the campsite including Studland beach and village which is a leisurely 25 minute cycle ride away as is Corfe Castle.
We are a very family orientated campsite and ask for quiet at 10.30pm. We are aware that some people may wish to stay up chatting after this time and that is absolutely fine as long as they are respectful of their camping neighbours.
Tents are not at all sound proof and noise travels across the site easily. Staff live on site and do stroll around the site and events field checking that this rule is adhered to. That being said we expect individuals to know how to behave and to do so correctly.
Anyone displaying behaviours deemed to be anti social by the Burnbake team may be asked to leave without refund.
We have a shop open morning and evening. It stocks camping equipment, gas, groceries, fresh bread and milk, barbecues and charcoal, toys, cold drinks, chocolate and sweets, ice and ice cream. You can also hire picnic tables, fire pits and freezer blocks at the shop.
There are two toilet/shower blocks,a baby changing room, washing-up sinks and a laundry room fitted with a washing machine that takes 3 x £1 coins and a tumble dryer that takes 50p’s.
There is chemical disposal point behind the shop for camp toilets, and 7 drinking water points spread across the site. A children’s play area is situated next to the shop.
Please vacate your pitch by midday on your day of departure
