An Indian Village at Burnbake
THIS summer for the first time here at Burnbake, we have established a unique Indian tipi village on the southern edge of beautiful Poole harbour.
And whether you are travelling to us from across the UK or just over the water from the Bournemouth and Poole conurbation, it is the ultimate August getaway.
Camp Cleavel has stunning views over the water to Poole and Brownsea Island.
There are ten tipis, five ridge tents and a big communal wigwam with a campfire cracking away in the evenings.
Reservations manager, Zoe Pattison said: “It’s an absolutely wonderful spot and we thought it was somewhere people would love to come and escape from it all this summer.
“It really adds something unique to the tourism offering in this part of Dorset.”
Breakfast and evening meals are available courtesy of local outside events firm Cumulus and Charlotte Ford from Purbeck Retreats offers massages and other treatments on site by appointment.
Pippa Yates who runs the mobile ‘Prosecco Boutique’ was on hand for the opening night to hand out glasses of fizz.
Zoe added: “Although we have guests from different parts of the country, it’s a wonderful, relaxing retreat for anyone living across the water in the busy Poole and Bournemouth conurbation, just half an hour away to what feels like the middle of nowhere.”
Guest Verity Pamphlett who spent the weekend at Camp Cleavel with three other families including seven children said: “It’s an amazing place. The water, the views and the peace. What more could you want from a holiday getaway?”
Brownsea Island was named as number five in the top ten places in the UK with the ‘happiest view’ in a survey published this summer.
Burnbake was awarded the accolade of best self catering accommodation in the Bournemouth and Poole Tourism Awards 2018.
There is still some availability to book tipis and tents until the end of August
