Campsite booking is now open!

Burnbake offers a back-to-nature camping experience that’s relaxed, rustic and charming and bookings are open now. Campfires crackle and fairy lights twinkle. We welcome tents and small camper vans – we apologise that we are currently unable to accommodate caravans. You won’t find restricting marked pitches here. Simply check in at reception, then go and choose your ideal spot, open and sunny or shaded under the trees.

Wood campfires (in containers off the ground) add to the atmosphere. Fire pits are available for hire subject to availability and you can buy marshmallows to toast from our on site shop which also stocks logs, fine local produce, pastries, groceries, treats, ice creams, toys and camping goods. Whilst we don’t have communal fridges or freezers, we do have our own ice blocks which you can rent from the shop (subject to availability) as well as bags of ice for sale. We do not offer a Service whereby we freeze customer ice blocks, as we have limited freezer space and don’t currently have a communal fridge or freezer for our guests!

Please be aware that as part of our efforts to protect the beautiful wildlife and heathlands surrounding our campsite, disposable BBQs are not permitted anywhere on site – we appreciate your cooperation in helping to keep Purbeck safe. We welcome the use of gas stoves and coal fire pits that are safely raised above ground.

We want everyone to enjoy the relaxed environment at Burnbake. Well behaved dogs are welcome at no charge, however they must be kept on a lead at all times and any deposits quickly cleared up. We ask that you keep a safe distance between pitches and remain peaceful, keeping noise to a minimum after 10.30pm.

Main Campsite 

The Main Campsite is set within woodland, where you can pitch your tent amongst the trees. This field is prettier than the Open Field, but it is more enclosed and therefore doesn’t offer as much space. The main facilities are on this field.

We also have 12 electric hook-up points – a mixture of grass and hardstanding locations at the main campsite only, for tents, camper vans and motorhomes up to 7 metres. These are allocated on a first comes first served basis. Please note if booking an electric hook up with other pitches on the main campsite, non-electric can’t pitch next to an electric hook up.

The Open Field 

This is a large open field that backs onto the forest. This field gets more sunshine than the main site and is perfect for larger groups or those who would like a bit more space. The Open field is a few minutes walk from the main facilities, although we put some portaloos out there to save your legs!

Campfield

Slightly smaller than the open field, the campfield backs on to wonderful woodland walk. Here is where you will find the Safari tents, which are tucked away in their own little corner of the field. They are only a minutes’ walk from the main facilities, with a porta shower block available during the high season and porta loos for your comfort.

When you book you are guaranteed a pitch, but we don’t allocate or have numbered pitches, so it’s a first come first served basis on what spot you get.
