House rules for doggies

  • Anxiety in a new space could cause you pet to chew or mess in the lodge. Please do not under any circumstance leave your dog alone in the lodge.
  • Please do not allow your dog/s up on the beds.
  • The hot tub is not the place for your dog – the water is far too hot for animals and the chemicals could do serious damage to breathing and skin.
  • Dogs must be kept on lead whilst on site. This is a natural farmland area and we must protect local livestock and wildlife.
  • Doggie deposits must be cleared away as soon as they are done and put in the dog poo bins located around the site. They can be found opposite Lodge 16, the entrance to the open field and at the start of the woodland walk.
  • We want your pet to enjoy their walks in all weathers, so we have provided a doggy shower on the back decking for you to wash your dog off and there is a towel for drying.
  • And after a long walk…. a nap! Please use the dog blanket if your pooch likes to nap on the sofa.
  • Accidents will happen, so there is bacterial spray and cloth for cleaning up floors and upholstery in your dog box.
  • Please do not wash your dog in the bath or shower or use the human towels provided, as the hair and dirt will block up our drains.
  • Any damage caused by your dog must be reported to the Burnbake team as soon as possible.
  • The main lodge area, lodges 1-12 and 19-22 are a No Dog Zone, not even for walks on the lead. Dogs can be walked around the campsite on a lead in low season but in high season they must be taken off site.

Lodge guest guidelines

Well-behaved pets are welcome, subject to you booking and occupying a pet friendly cabin and paying the cleaning fee we charge.

  • Please keep all dogs on a lead around the lodges and car parks. While we appreciate your dogs may be friendly and well trained, not all our cabins are pet friendly and some of our guests may not be as comfortable around animals.
  • Please ensure your pet is covered by appropriate third party liability insurance in case of damage/injury to property or persons.
  • Please ensure your pet is wormed and flead and registered at a vet.
  • If one of our team members has a need to visit your cabin (for example, if you have requested a maintenance engineer) you must take your pet(s) out of the cabin or keep them in a different room while these visits take place and comply with any specific instructions provided to you.
  • We must ask that your dog is not left alone in our lodge, as pets get distressed in new environments.

When in your lodge we must ask:

  • No more than three pets may occupy any one pet friendly lodge.
  • Please do not allow pets on furniture or beds without a blanket.

For the protection of your dog, additionally, we request:

  • They must be microchipped (as required by law)
  • They must have had current annual vaccination for distemper, canine hepatitis, leptospirosis and parvo virus
  • You are aware of the correct dog care when in a forest environment, such as checking for ticks and any seasons canine illnesses that may naturally occur around the UK.
