Sandbanks

Oozing beach life style

The millionaires’ row of Sandbanks, a small peninsula crossing the mouth of Poole Harbour, has become as famous for the lifestyles of its residents as for its fabulous, golden beach.

Rick Stein, Sandbanks serves seafood dishes from crab salads to fruits de mer with views across the water and you will also find a small but stylish selection beach bars, cafes and restaurants to decide between.

With fine golden sand and clean and safe water, Sandbanks is the only beach in the UK to have won Blue Flag status continuously for well over a quarter of a century. Kiosks and shops offer all the usual beach necessities.

Water sports include parascending and sailing. Kayaks and jet-skis can be hired. There is crazy-golf behind the beach front, mini-golf and a lovely playground.

In high season the car park fills quickly, so, if you are visiting from Burnbake and don’t mind a short walk you can leave the car at Studland and hop on the chain ferry across to Sandbanks.
